Tom Brook was the first British journalist to report live from the place of Lennon's murder outside the house of former members of the Beatles in New York on December 8, 1980. He did a flashback shooting incident.
On the evening of December 8, 1980, I was inexperienced young journalist who had just arrived in New York from London. I was totally unprepared for major events that will happen.
Pop impresario Jonathan King phoned late at night. At that time he was a columnist for BBC Radio 1 who lives in New York. He told me that he heard numerous reports about the shooting outside the Dakota, Lennon's house, and a former member of the Beatles are likely to be victims.
I immediately took a taxi through the 8th Avenue and arrived at the Dakota after 11 pm with a recording device and a notebook.

Tom Brook returned to the scene this week |
The road was closed and became quiet. A number of police cars outside the entrance Dakota, some people began to gather.
A few minutes before arriving at the building, Lennon was immediately taken to Roosevelt Hospital - on the shoulders of the police. Dr. Stephan Lynn and his team in the emergency room work hard to keep him alive.
A few days ago Dr. Lynn tell you what happened in that space. "There are no signs of life, no blood pressure, no pulse. He did not react. We opened the left chest. I do using a scalpel blade.
"I held her heart in my hand while the nurses perform blood transfusions. I tried to massage the heart while the blood flowed into his body. We know it is impossible to revive the blood circulation, it is not possible to improve the severe injury of all blood vessels in his body."
Outside the Dakota I tried to contact co-workers at Broadcasting House in London before dawn.
There was no breakfast on television, radio controlled air but international communication is not running smoothly. There was no internet, email, sms, mobile phone, and it's hard to call London directly.
From a public phone box not far from the Dakota I can contact the Today show. Editor evening asked me to gather as much information and ensure at 6:30 am I was ready to broadcast it.

Notes Tom Brook |
I urge the night watchman in a building opposite the Dakota for letting me use his phone so that I can send comments to the London recording. It was difficult to send a voice to London.
You must open the phone to talk and then install a special clamp that is connected to a tape recorder. It is hard to do, but tonight it all went well.
I replace the janitor refused payment for the phone to London is so big. He did not want to be paid because he had loved John Lennon and his music.
Not long after I did a live broadcast. I really like John Lennon. The music and the words are very touching.
When the broadcast, host of the Today show, Brian Redhead, urging me to specify the report and I remember the end the question with the words: "... and now he has died." I spoke calmly, but I was shocked by my own words. I seemed to lose control of themselves.
I keep a record of that night. After that I had to report for Radio 4 broadcast. Every time I write a script data is changing quickly, so I have to do a lot of improvement.
Many writings are difficult to read. I am very stressed and very emotional story.
The crowd continued to swell. Hundreds of people gathered. They came to Dakota with weeping, carrying candles, singing Lennon's songs, they were on guard all night.Grieving family

Yoko and Sean Lennon |
Sean Lennon is difficult to face his father's death anniversary
A few days ago I learned that for one acquaintance of the famous Lennon - singer and songwriter, James Taylor: "I was surprised right now, I live in a building near the Dakota and I heard shots - five times as fast as you pull the trigger, about five explosions. The killer ran into me at the train station, right in front of 72nd Street a day earlier.
"He pushed me into the wall, he was sweating and saying things that are not clear. What would he do, interest in John of the goods, and he will try to contact John Lennon. It was very strange to meet with that person 24 hours before he killed John. "
Yoko Ono takes quite a while before it can speak in public about that night. I interviewed him before the anniversary of two years Lennon's death in 1982.
To Yoko, her husband was apparently still alive. He calmly said: "He's still alive, he's still with us, his spirit will remain alive. You can not kill other people so easily, that's my feeling."
Sean Ono Lennon, son of John Lennon's Yoko, just beumur five years when his father was murdered. He was at home when the murder Dakota.

Sean Ono Lennon, son of John Lennon's Yoko, just beumur five years when his father was murdered. He was at home when the murder Dakota.
It is difficult for Sean to deal with this warning: "He had died 30 years ago, and at times like this I tend to try to find my mother to make sure he's in good health. Basically I want to make sure he's in good condition."
Warnings cause the death of Lennon fans and the people of the world famous music again showed their admiration.
Music group U2 singer, Bono, who at the time of the shooting was in New York said: "I know that I will not be today without him, my life as an artist was formed Lennon and I will stop emphasize how big influence on my music."
But Lennon's probably not too fond of this praise.
In one of the important published Playboy interview he said: "I do not want to remember the past. I do not believe that is past. I am only interested in what I do now."
John Lennon might not want to think about the past but if you observe all warning events are done, millions of people, 30 years after he died, still very attracted to him and his music.
