Replying to attack North Korea Pledge

Seoul: South Korea marinirnya bury two members who were killed in artillery attack North Korea, Saturday (27/11). A funeral was filled with tears. The military high officials grimly vowed to avenge the death of their comrades.

Prime ministers, army commanders and victims' families attended the funeral Sergeant Suh Jung-Woo, 22 years old and Kwang-Wook Moon, 20 years old, in a hall of military hospital near Seoul which was broadcast on national television.

"We're definitely going to avenge the death of you," said Marine Lt. Commander Yo-Joon Nak in front of the coffin. A moment later, the death of music played. The sobbing relatives wept in the hall which was filled with uniformed troops.

"We would have to pay back the North Korean one hundred thousand times as much for killing and harassing our Marines. We're certainly going to carve this savagery far into the bone and would take revenge for them," he said.

The two Marines were killed along with two civilians when North Korea launched an artillery attack against Yeongpyeong Island in the Yellow Sea last Tuesday. The attack was to make the Korean Peninsula to heat up.

Alternately mourners laid flowers and burn incense in front of portraits of the two soldiers. After the final salute of three shots, their bodies buried in a national cemetery in the city park south of Daejeon.

Among the mourners was the Prime Minister Kim Hwang-Sik and defense minister, Kim Tae-Young, who resigned to take responsibility for the military on suspicion of soft response given to the bombings.

In one speech, Corporal Ha Min-Soo, who lived in the same barracks with two marines had, said goodbye. "My dear and Kwang-Woo Jung-woo, we surely will pay your sacrifice," he said. "Please be Yeonpyeong protective spirits and inspire us to defend the island," he said.
