Beware of Dangers of Plastic! Learn Before Too Late.


Already many people are giving warnings, rumors, gossip and even a magazine article about the dangers of plastic. But still only a handful of people who menggubris, care, or to investigate further.
Plastic is one of the ingredients that we can meet at almost every item. Starting from drink bottles, TV, refrigerator, pralon pipe, plastic laminating, dentures, compact disk (CD), polish (nail cleaner), automobiles, machinery, military equipment to pesticides. Therefore, we can almost certainly never use and have items that contain Bisphenol-A. One of the things that wear plastic and contain Bisphenol A is a food and beverage industries as food storage, plastic food cover, mineral water bottles, baby bottles and even now there are baby bottles and food storage that do not contain bisphenol A that is safe for food use . One test proved 95% of people never wear articles containing bisphenol-A.
Plastics are used because of mild, not easily broken, and cheap. However, the plastic also poses risks to the environment and health of our families. Therefore, we must understand plastics safe for our use.
What is the meaning of the symbols that we encounter on a variety of plastic products?

1-PETE # 1. PETE or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic bottles used for clear / transparent / translucent such as mineral water bottles, juice bottles, and almost any other beverage bottles. Boto-bottle with materials # 1 and # 2 is recommended only for single use. Do not use for warm water let alone hot. Discard bottles which have long or beret-beret look.  

2-HDPE # 2. HDPE (high density polyethylene) milk bottles used for milk white. Same as # 1 PET, # 2 is recommended only for single use. 


 
3-V # 3. V or PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is the most difficult plastic recycled. Plastics can be found on the plastic wrap (cling wrap), and bottles. The content of the PVC that contained DEHA in plastic wrapping can leak and into the greasy food when heated. PVC potentially harmful to the kidneys, liver and body weight.

4-LDPE # 4. LDPE (low density polyethylene) was used to place food and bottles of soft. The goods with the code # 4 can be recycled and good for those items that require flexibility but strong. Goods with the # 4 can not be spelled out in the break but still good for the food.
5-PP # 5. PP (polypropylene) is the best choice for plastic materials, especially related to food and beverages as a place to store food, drink bottles and most drink bottles for babies. Characteristics are usually transparent bottles that are not clear or cloudy. Find this symbol when buying goods made from plastic.

6-PS # 6. PS (polystyrene) was used as a place to eat styrofoam, disposable drinking places, etc.. Polystyrene Materials styrine material could leak into the food when the food is touching. Styrine material harmful to the brain and nervous system. Besides the food, styrine also be obtained from cigarette smoke, fumes and building construction materials. This material should be avoided and many U.S. states have banned the use made of styrofoam food places including China.

7-other # 7. Other (usually polycarbonate) can be found in the foods and beverages such as sports drink bottles. Polycarbonate can release its main ingredient is Bisphenol-A into the food and beverages that potentially damage the hormone system. Avoid polycarbonate plastic material.
There are still lots of plastic stuff that does not include these symbols, especially locally made plastic goods in Indonesia. Therefore, if you hesitate better not buy. Even if bersimbol goods more expensive, the price is more valuable than the health of our families.
In the end. Avoid using any plastic in the microwave. Use a ceramic material, glass or pyrex instead.
Also avoid throwing garbage, especially plastics containing Bisphenol-A is too arbitrary because the material could contaminate ground water, which in turn can contaminate the drinking water of many people.
