Shark Attack

The authorities are searching for an oceanic white tip shark “Carcharhinus longimanus” which is believed to have carried out the attacks.

A shark 3 metres long white tip shark attacked a 50 year old women on Tuesday at the coast of South Sinai Sharm el Sheikh. The woman from Russia was badly bitten on one foot and an arm during the horrible attack on the sea, which took place a few meters from the beach. Several people from diving near reportedly saw the shark and filmed shortly before he attack.

A Lifeguard located next to the woman, he reach the woman just a few minutes after she started screaming and drowning in water. She remained conscious and was taken to hospital nearby.

Other three tourists attacks happened in this last 3 days, all made by a longimanus on Sharm’s coast:

One attack costed an Arm,
other one costed a leg,
one costed 2 arms.

To days the costal Marine closed all the beaches with the intent to take the Shark in security for the tourists. Every Hotel was advised to close any access to the sea and to inform the guests to don’t enter in sea water.
