Narathiwat (ANTARA / TNA-OANA) - Four members of the Protection Unit Teacher Tuesday wounded in roadside bomb attacks and shootings allegedly carried out the rebels in Ruso district, in southern Narathiwat province is plagued by violence, according to police.

According to initial investigations, the union consisted of 12 soldiers on teacher protection unit was patrolling the area and escorting teachers to school Banmanangpanyang, when an insurgent suspected of using mobile phones to trigger bombs that buried it.
After the bomb exploded, the soldiers were ambushed by some unidentified gunmen.
The two groups exchanged gunfire for about five minutes. Later, the gunmen fled the scene.
The officials later arrested three people suspected of involvement in the attack for further investigation, according to Police Capt. Danchai Moonpom.
In a related development, Lt. Gen. Benjarong Chareonporn, deputy commander of the Fourth Army Region, led the funeral ceremony and baptism of the Civil Service Volunteer Kampol Luedech and Somros Makboon who was shot dead Monday afternoon at a market in Cho Ai Rong district, Narathiwat.
Their bodies were then transferred to their home villages each in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani.
More than 4,000 people including government officials and citizens have been killed in three southern province of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat since the insurgency in the region came back in 2004.
The three southernmost provinces bordering Malaysia was formerly autonomous region Malay Muslim sultanate until annexed by Thailand a majority embraced Budhha in 1902.
Since the insurgency erupted in the region.
