Baltimore Fox News affiliate edits video to make it appear that peaceful protesters are encouraging the murder of police officers.

Last night, Baltimore's WBFF aired a video of protesters chanting "kill a cop"– evidence, it claimed, of murderously violent rhetoric on the part of anti-brutality protesters in Washington, D.C. The only problem? The protesters weren't chanting "kill a cop" at all, and there's video evidence to prove it. 

The current national pastime appears to be constructing elaborate ways of laying responsibility for recent police shootings at the feet of anti-police-brutality protesters. This, of course, is bullshit. Faced with the daunting task of shifting blame for broad and escalating distrust of police away from the murderous bastards themselves and onto mostly non-violent activists, our insanely cynical news media has been forced to dig deep into their bag of tricks.

Here is how WBFF broadcast the footage:

The woman pictured leading the chants is Tawanda Jones, sister of the 12 year old boy that was gunned down by Baltimore police while playing with a toy gun. Who responded with this on Facebook.

Right now there is a very aggressive attempt by conservatives to blame those NYPD deaths on protesters, and this is simply one example.

I think the very least the FCC should do is to heavily fine these people, but if they were really doing their jobs they would take the entire Fox News cable network off the air entirely.

Man kills two New York police officers execution style. Online postings indicate possible retaliation for deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.

The gunman who ambushed and murdered two NYPD officers as they sat in their squad car Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn vowed to kill police in a number of social media posts that vowed retaliation for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, authorities said. 

Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28, wrote on his Instagram account: "I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let's take 2 of theirs," hours before the killings, two city officials with direct knowledge of the case confirmed for The Associated Press. He used the hashtags Shootthepolice RIPErivGardner (sic) RIPMikeBrown. The post also included an image of a silver handgun and the message, "This may be my final post. The post had more than 200 likes but also had many others admonishing his statements. 

Police said Brinsley, who was black, approached the passenger window of a marked police car at approximately 2:45 p.m. local time and opened fire, striking Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in the head. The officers -- one Hispanic, one Asian -- were on special patrol doing crime reduction work in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. 

"They were, quite simply, assassinated -- targeted for their uniform," said Police Commissioner Bill Bratton during a news conference at Woodhull Medical Center, where the officers were pronounced dead Saturday evening. 

As you can see I linked to the Fox News report on this because I knew they would put the connection to Michael Brown and Eric Garner front and center. And that is going to be the focus from conservative outlets going forward.

It is quite appropriate to report on those connections of course, but we all know that Fox and their Right Wing counterparts are going to make sure to focus on the shooters ethnicity and the online postings to suggest that the peaceful protests that have been taking place in New York and other places around the country are partly responsible for this shooting.

After all that is what they do.

And this gunman, who did a terrible and inexcusable thing, provided them with an early Christmas gift that they can now exploit in order to suggest that cops are dealing with animals on the streets and it is understandable that occasionally they utilize too much force in response to the constant fear that they could be murdered at any moment.

The topless militants of Femen have a new target, Fox News and Sean Hannity.

Femen’s manner of protesting has not proved to everyone’s liking, to put it mildly, but one thing is certain: In an era of rising political disaffection and apathy, people pay attention. Bare breasts are not incidental to Femen’s struggle. The movement has aimed to wrest conceptions about women’s bodies from the clutches of the three (doctrinally prudish and phallocratic) Abrahamic religions that would shroud them, partly or in full, in cloth as well as in shame. Toplessness is, in Femen’s view, a means of boldly violating gender- and faith-based societal norms; and atheism has formed a part of the Femen canon since the movement’s inception in 2008. 

Atheism has been dear to (Inna) Shevchenko in particular: Her own life has been shaped and even upended by her fight for secularist ideals. In protest against the harsh, Orthodox Church-supported prison sentence Pussy Riot received from the Russian authorities, in August 2012 she chainsawed a towering wooden cross in central Kiev in her native Ukraine. Publicly threatened as a result by Ukraine’s conservative President Viktor Yanukovych (deposed last year) and facing charges of “criminal hooliganism” for her deed, she fled to France and established Femen’s first outpost abroad. There, she soon rocketed to fame (better said, infamy), leading her militants in a multitude of fiercely faithless demonstrations in favor of women’s rights and same-sex marriage that pushed Gallic tolerance of free speech to the limit. Perhaps most controversially, she inspired the depiction of the revered (and bare-breasted) heroine of the French Revolution Marianne now gracing the country’s postage stamps, becoming the only foreign woman to do so. This still infuriates France’s nationalistic (and ascendant) far right, which has called (unsuccessfully) for the stamp to be withdrawn.

The Salon reporter, Jeffrey, Taylor, asked Shevchenko why she is so aggressive in criticizing the new pope, her answer was rather interesting: 

“The pope said he recognized the Big Bang,” she answered. “He sees how his doctrine doesn’t accord with progress, so he says things like this. He also said, ‘Who am I to criticize gay people?’ Just for this, we’re ready to hand over Parliament to him? This is just his strategy so he can come and speak at the Parliament. He says God isn’t a magician and wins great popularity even with some atheists. But if we believe him, we’re twice foolish; we become slaves of the most powerful religious institution, the Vatican, and then we invite him to Parliament. This just shows how stupid we [atheists] are and how clever they are.” She paused. “Not many Americans know that the Vatican received its statehood from Mussolini … It’s highly symbolic that Vatican statehood was created by a fascist.”

Very good points all. Clearly this is yet another Atheist who thinks the Pope is a little too good to be true.

Taylor also asked Shevchenko if Femen had any new targets in their sites:

There was one other target Femen would like to strike: Fox News. 

“Anyone in particular there?” I asked. 

“Femen doesn’t reject people, it rejects ideas.” 

I pressed her to name names. She ventured one: that of talk-show host Sean Hannity. 

Sean Hannity! An attack on him would earn Femen evergreen laurels in a yet-to-be-erected pantheon of progressivism. A more deserving target of the movement’s bare-breasted ire would be tough to imagine.

Personally I think this is the kind of thing that Hannity will not be unable to resist talking about, and if he does that will only mean that Femen has successfully manipulated him into publicizing their movement on one of the most popular cable news shows in America.

It may be easy for some to dismiss these woman due to their use of nudity to garner attention, but these are certainly not bimbos.

These are very intelligent and driven women, who are making quite a name for themselves in Europe and Russia.

And they certainly had not difficulty getting the attention of at least one world leader.

Personally I welcome any help in taking down Fox News and Sean Hannity in particular.

While President Obama delivered his response to the decision by the grand jury in Ferguson not to indict Officer Darren Wilson, Fox News offered a split screen view of events on the ground. At one particular moment, around 10:15 p.m. EST, as the president called for non-violent demonstrations, protestors could be seen attempting to turn over a police car.

You know you almost can't blame Fox. This is almost tailored made for their racist narrative.

Here is all of the evidence released by St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch. There is a journal entry from Witness 40 that, if accurate, seems to explain how Michael Brown was shot in the top of the head. But then Witness 14 had a completely different take.

And here are Officer Darrell Wilson's "injuries."

As you can see he was really manhandled. Apparently by a toddler. Remember Michael Brown was six foot five, and weighed 289 lbs.(And by the way these pictures look much different than ones taken in another series of photos after the shooting.)

I will admit that there is a lot of contradictory evidence released by the Grand Jury, but it seems clear that there was a lot more credibility given to Wilson's version of events than to versions coming from other witnesses.

After reading through some of it I think that if I had been an African American living in Ferguson I might have been on the streets last night as well.
