Well guess which Wasillabilly family is nominated for TPM's Golden Dukes ward, under the category "Best Scandal -- Sex and Generalized Carnality." Did you peek?

Here are the categories according to Talking Points Memo:

Best Scandal -- Sex and Generalized Carnality -The Palin clan for the brawl of the century (no, no sex but nominated for just generally gettin' down and dirty when everyone's good and drunk.)

-Gov. Tom Corbett who was Attorney General when members of his staff exchanged pornographic emails.

-Carl Demaio for multiple sexual harassment allegations.

-Investigator David Nieland, who conducted the internal review of the Homeland Security Department's prostitution scandal, and then resigned himself over an incident involving a prostitute in Florida.

Aww, come on! Those other scandals cannot hold a candle to the Throwdown at the Hoedown!

I mean we have both pictures AND audio.

You can actually HEAR the drunken stupidity, and threatening behavior for yourself.

Okay look according to Josh Marshall of TPM the decision will not be rendered until December the 31st, so that gives us quite a few days to let him know that there is NO scandal more deserving of that award than the Palin drunken family brawl.

Don't just stand there, go leave a comment. And make sure to leave links to the police audio too.

No way can we let those scandal wannabes Tom Corbett of Carl Demaio walk away this thing.

That soldier of misfortune in the "War on Christmas" Sarah Palin pimps her unsellable book from last year. Which now you can buy on Amazon for one penny. Update!

"Oh God, please buy this book. I have so many losers to support back at home."
Well it's that time of year again folks.

The kids are off for winter break, the tree is decorated and running up our electric bill, the holiday classics are on every channel, and Sarah Palin is bitching about the Atheists trying to murder the baby Jesus with a candy cane.

Having already been caught shaking her flat ass for a ride out to oblivion, Palin has now shifted her focus to selling some of those books that nobody seemed to want last year.

Toward that end Palin has created a few videos and posted them on her own Sarah Palin Channel, because of course THAT is where to go for that as yet untapped market. (Okay there might be a flaw in this plan.)

In this video Palin describes how great Christmas is, and what assholes Atheists are for trying to take it away from people, while also discussing the recipes contained within including moose chili (WTF?), blueberry pie, and of course the extremely complicated to prepare Rice Krispie treats.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Former half-term Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, spoke of recipes and family holiday get-togethers while noting that her viewers shouldn’t let “a few angry atheists with attorneys” get in the way of celebrating the birth of Christ.

“Oh, I am so excited for people to get to read this Christmas book, while protecting the heart of Christmas and not allowing the Scrooges out there to take Christ out of Christmas, or to erode any of the tradition we celebrate during the Christmas season,” she explained. “It’s called ‘Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas’.”

She continued to discuss “what we believe in at this time of year,” before returning, once again, to her book.

“What we believe in is freedom of expressing our faith and what our beliefs are, not allowing just a few angry atheists with attorneys perhaps to tell us that we can’t celebrate the birth of Christ the way that we would like to,” she said. “And it’s not an in-your-face political lecture, it’s a fun book that incorporates the solution to the challenge that is the war on Christmas that we see taking place right now.”

Palin went on to say that she believes the book will “hopefully will spark some inspiration in other people to allow them, no matter what faith anyone is, allow them some Christmas joy to spread.”

She also promises that the book features her recipe for her moose chili (“I’m kind famous for my moose chili”) as well as rice krispie treats and blue-berry pies, saying her family has to “compete” with native Alaskan bears to harvest the berries first.

Raw Story goes on to point out that those who actually want to buy this ridiculous book can get a used one on Amazon for a penny.  (Still overpriced in my opinion.)

If you watch the video you will see a shot of Palin getting some frozen meat out of her dented freezer while holding a sleeping Trig, who suddenly comes to life and starts squirming after he realizes who is holding him.

The entire video has Palin using that fake syrupy voice of her's. But if you think that is bad then you have to see this one where she talks about sending John McCain a Christmas card.

Transcript courtesy of Wonkette:

Yes, John McCain does get a Christmas card, and he gets a note of appreciation for recognizing that there was someone way up in the Last Frontier who had a desire to serve this country. I still appreciate John McCain for that, and I thank him for that. Yeah, John McCain’s on my Christmas card list, heck yeah.

Okay did that sound really creepy to anybody else?

Wonkette features another video where Palin brags that the only thing she ever gets Todd for Christmas is a fifty dollar gas card and that it is enough to make him happy. (Oh yeah, Todd looks like a happy guy doesn't he?)

Damn I have to imagine that the idiots that actually paid the subscription fee for the Sarah Palin Channel are kicking themselves right about now.

Not only is there rarely any content, but when there is it is trying to sell them books that they already bought a long time ago.

I can hardly wait to find out how far she sinks in the Alexa ratings this next year.

Update: Apparently Palin also sent out a tweet yesterday giving the Duck Dynasty disphits a much more appropriate name.

The tweet has now been fixed, but not before those pesky liberals too the screen shot above.

Bringing everybody up to speed.

I have often in my life felt unsure of myself. Especially when I took on a new job or task that was outside of my comfort zone or required a skill set that I was not sure I possessed.

I can remember starting jobs and worrying that my employers would soon discover I was a fraud and that I could not accomplish what was being asked of me.

In all of those cases I did in fact manage to rise to the challenge despite my misgivings or insecurities. And in fact often the jobs evolved to fit my personality so well that finding a replacement for me when I left was a real challenge.

When I started The Immoral Minority I felt much the same way. After all who cared what some dude in Alaska thought about politics, religion, and world affairs? But then I discovered that quite a lot of people did.

And when this job evolved into one that required actual reporting, and conducting interviews, all of those insecurities came right back.

In many ways I lack the essential component that makes a good reporter. I am not all that nosy.

Part of that is undoubtedly from living in Alaska where we tend to have a live and let live philosophy, and part of it is that I am kind of shy and not very aggressive when it comes to talking to people I don't know.

However I have discovered that I am in somewhat of a unique position so I have attempted to put my insecurities and self doubts aside in the interest of getting the story.

All of the above may seem a little off topic, but in fact it is background to help explain why I have not posted the stories that I talked about starting way back in September.

You see at that time I was quite confident that we would be getting all of the information out before Halloween. And besides that I was pretty sure that Korey Klingenmeyer was about to press charges.

Obviously things did not work out quite that way.

To be honest I don't know what happened with Klingenmeyer, but I can explain what happened with my source and the story we were working on.

Essentially I lost contact with her.

The first thing that happened was that work responsibilities for both of us kept making it hard to get together, and then she had a training to attend out of state, and then, to be honest, I simply lost track of her.

Suddenly my e-mails and text messages were not being returned, and phone calls went to voice mail. This started at the end of October, and I did not hear from her again until the beginning of this month and only had a real conversation with her just last night.

Right up until last night I was beginning to worry that I had been left hanging. (Something which has happened more than once in my blogging career.) And due to my reticence to badger this person or pursue her more aggressively, as a trained journalist might do, I sort of let things slide.

Ultimately I came to believe that I had somehow blown it and that I might not get the really gritty stuff that I had been promised.

In response I started to construct a post of the information that she had already shared with me over lunch that day at The Outback, and in text messages and e-mails afterward.

So I wrote up most of that, picking through it carefully so that it would not reveal her identity (The one journalistic trait that IS firmly part of my DNA is that I NEVER burn a source.), only to realize that there was no way to trim it down to the point where the Palins themselves would not be able to figure out who I must be talking to. Or at least narrow it down to a handful of suspects.

So I decided that I simply could not write the post without letting her know that she might be outed, even if I didn't mention her by name.

After I sent that e-mail I received this one back in response:

Not opposed at all to working with you- just got busy it's the crazy time of year for me! What do you need? I'm Not focused on them right now- work has my undivided attention.

After that we had several e-mail conversations back and forth, and last night we talked on the phone for forty plus minutes where she assured me that she is still gung-ho to get her story out there and is also committed to coming out publicly so that the Palins cannot simply dismiss it as based on anonymous sources. (Which by the way is great news, as she was not sure about that earlier.)

There is one hitch however, and that is that though she is determined to reveal her identity, she wants to wait until after a certain legal issue has been sorted out.

She also explained some of the things that she has been dealing with and by comparison the blog post is simply not as important as the other real life things that she currently has on her plate. (As it turned out I was only one of several people who she was not responding to while dealing with her difficulties.)

So what we agreed to is for me to go ahead and publish that post that I was working on before (The one with the information from our previous conversations.), and keep her identity secret enough so that Palin supporters cannot track her down and start harassing her (Though as I said the Palins will still likely have a pretty fair idea who is talking to me.), and then continue to post new information based on conversations we will have moving forward, as well as photos and documents that she will share, until finally she is in a place where she feels comfortable in stepping completely out of the shadows.

That first post, as somebody already guessed earlier, will show up Monday.

And what can you expect from that post, and the ones that will follow?

Drinking, drug use, family fights, dark secrets, and "I don't know whose baby that is, but it is NOT Sarah's."

Possible reason for concern. Apparently Willow Palin is now armed.

Sarah Palin's ghostwriter helped her compose a rather meandering post which included a bit about her friend Juanita's first moose kill, an article her brother wrote about hanging out with the Duck Dynasty dipshits, and this:

Running joke among the family is “we never win anything!”, so what a cool surprise today that Willow won the Wasilla High School Swim Team fundraiser raffle – a Remington with a sweet scope! (I know... only in Alaska.)

I have to mention that I am a life long Alaskan and have never heard of a high school affiliated raffle giving away a hunting rifle, but let's face it Wasilla marches to its own tone deaf drummer.

I have also never heard of Willow wanting to go hunting, so one has to wonder just how useful of a prize a Remington with a "sweet scope" really is to the budding hair stylist.

What I do know is that Willow tends to hold a grudge, so I will make sure that my curtains are closed at night just to be on the safe side.

Considering what I am about to share I think I will be moving up the list of people who the Palins would like to see eliminated.

Sarah Palin makes list of GQ's Least Influential People of 2014, which in and of itself is not news. However check out how they describe her.

So GQ has its list of the least influential people of 2014, and to be fair a lot of people made the list, including the President, Chris Christie, John McCain and Johnny Depp.

However it was the description of Palin that I thought worth sharing:

She barely even get out of the limo! Some dude is reportedly calling her daughter a slut and a cunt, and the rest of her family is brawling at a kegger, and there's Sarah in the fucking limo (of course she's in a limo), letting her Wasilbilly family rumble while she's probably Googling herself without a care in the world. She only finally gets out of the limo to name-drop herself to the cops! Does she even know she has a family? Or does she think those people are stock models provided for her by GOP donors?

Yeah clearly the drunken brawl is now part of Palin's permanent legacy. And though she may have helped her family wriggle out of any legal consequences, the court of public opinion has gleefully convicted them all the same.

The Onion jokingly describes TLC plans for replacing "Honey Boo Boo" but I think they are really on to something.

So I don't usually link to the Onion because when dealing with some of the things I write about you really have to struggle to define the line between reality and parody.

However yesterday I saw this amazing faux description of what the TLC producers should be doing in response to the loss of one of their biggest stars.

Take a look:

Saying that he didn’t “give two shits” if they had to knock on the door of every trailer and halfway house in the country, TLC producer and programming director Mark Livingston reportedly told his staffers Friday that he expects to see a list of at least 100 fucked-up families on his desk by the end of the workday. “We’re up shit creek right now, so I need each one of you assholes rooting through every gutter in the goddamn Ozarks to find me a household of inbreds, addicts, or fat-as-fuck morons that we can put in primetime,” a visibly aggravated Livingston said to his staff following the cancellation of the network’s popular Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, stressing that the new families had better be “borderline brain-dead” and “messed up as all fuck.” “If they have 20 dipshit kids, that’s great. If they only have one greasy dimwit kid who can barely string a sentence together, that’ll work too. Hell, you get me some snarl-toothed family of backwoods idiots who all call their dad Papa Pig or some shit like that, and I’ll sign them immediately. Just find me some family of sewer people I can throw in front of the goddamn camera, got it?” At press time, Livingston was angrily telling his staffers that they could all find a new job wiping asses at the Disney Channel if they brought him one more suggestion for a morbidly obese teen mother.

Okay I'm sorry, I know they might think this is a joke but c'mon we all know who they are describing, right?

And it's not like they have not worked with them before, so they will not have to struggle to learn all of their bizarre names or anything.

And NOW they are even a better fit for TLC now that they have taken to crashing parties and attacking the hosts.

I mean come on, the scripts for the unscripted reality show almost write themselves.

One episode could be all about Track ripping off various articles of clothing before he gets his ass beat by a bunch of "little bitches,"

And another could focus on a highly intoxicated Bristol telling the TLC camera crew about being sexually assaulted by imaginary men, or possibly aliens, and them stealing her expensive accessories. As well as possibly probing her.

Another episode would feature Willow demonstrating her incredible expletive filled vocabulary. "Did you know there are like a hundred and ninety five different variations on saying 'fuck you' to somebody?"

And of course Sarah herself will yelling "Don't film that," and "Stop cussing Track," and of course "I'll buy the film from your camera."

Yep I think it is meant to be.

Alaska Dispatch has all of the audio from the drunken brawl. No bleeping here folks.

"I love my Bristol!"
So I spent quite a lot of my night last night listening to the audio over at TPM. They have pretty much all of it, so it took quite some time.

I was going to transcribe it but there is just too much.

Then I found that Alaska Dispatch had the audio as well, and made it accessible to be embedded so I have done that below with a few of the most provocative parts. (To listen to them all just head on over to the Dispatch.)
Here is how the Dispatch described this one:

Through sobs, Bristol Palin, described as "heavily intoxicated" in the police report, tells police she was pushed to the ground and dragged across the grass while Klingenmeyer called her names. “They took my $300 sunglasses, they took my f**king shoes and I’m f**king just left here?”

The officer asks where she’s injured. “My f**king knees, my face, where’s my sh*t? I have a 5-year-old in the car,” she replies.

Steve Lebida, identified in the police report as being involved in the fight on the sidewalk in front of the home, is interviewed as he leaves the party. “I think I tripped and fell,” he initially tells police, but later says he was beat up. His driver says she is taking him to the hospital, and police allow him to leave.

After police interview several other people who are leaving the party, the Palins begin arguing with the officer about why he allowed others to leave. Willow Palin tells the officer, “Seriously, (Bristol) got beat to the ground and you are just going to let him go away?”

Funny how Willow describes Bristol as "mentally hurt" after the fight. I also wish the police had more carefully questioned this Steve Lebida guy, as he is clearly afraid to speak on the record.

And Bristol keeps talking about her "five year old in the car," is very reminiscent of her mother hiding behind Trig to deflect criticism or to keep from answering probing questions.

The second part of the interview is with Mark McKenna who parrots the Palin's version of events, but absolutely throws Bristol under the bus and does not back up her story of being dragged around by her legs.

Here is how the Dispatch describes this portion:

At minute 6:49, homeowner Klingenmeyer recounts his version of events: A fight broke out in the front of the house, after which Klingenmeyer was approached by Bristol Palin, looking to start a fight with another woman. When Klingenmeyer stopped her, Palin hit him in the face, he tells police.

Matthew McKenna is interviewed after Klingenmeyer, explaining that the fight involving Todd and Track Palin was fueled by alcohol. “(Steve Lebida) was mouthing off to another drunk guy,” McKenna said.

At 20:21, Todd Palin interjects and confronts Klingenmeyer. “Did you call Bristol a slut, or what’s up man?” Todd Palin says.

"Todd, really?" Klingenmeyer replies.

Klingenmeyer tells Palin, “You need to go on another reality show.”

As the situation escalates, an officer says, “Let’s break this up.” In the background, others tell Track Palin to back off and stay out of the confrontation.

That interaction between Todd and Korey is very interesting and clearly demonstrates why he is called the enforcer. I also find it interesting that Todd seems to be prompting McKenna as to what version of the fight that happened with Todd and Track he needs to tell.

Here is how the Dispatch describes this portion:

Willow Palin can be heard reiterating that Klingenmeyer was calling her sister expletives and says that Bristol never landed a punch on Klingenmeyer.

At the mention of a possible video of the event, an unidentified man tells police, “These are friends of mine and (the video) ain’t going out to anybody.

The video don’t exist.” “I don’t have to owe you video because you’re a cop,” the man says.

You can clearly hear Willow in the background claiming that Bristol missed every punch she through at Klingenmeyer, and also that weird "I swear to God on my Down syndrome brother's life" phrase.

And I love hearing Todd telling Willow to shut up.

As for the guy telling the police that he does not "owe the video to you" that is clearly Mark McKenna. And if Klingenmeyer decides to press charge, then despite his protests to the contrary he WOULD have to produce that video.

You can hear Eric Thompson giving his account of events as well. Sounds EXACTLY like what he told the press later.

And the rest of the witnesses on the audio back up Klingenmeyer's version of events.

Here is how the Dispatch describes this portion:

A chaotic scene unfolds in which a child can be heard crying and the Palin family is heard yelling in the background.

A police officer speaks with Track and Todd Palin, who give a convoluted version of events. Track Palin believes they are in Eagle River at a party that was “kosher” until some men started insulting his sister.

Todd Palin said a “father-and-son team” came down from the house and “cold-clocked” their friend Steve Lebida. “When that happened it just escalated,” Palin said.

Witness Brian Horschel tells police that he didn’t see the fights but that Track Palin was picking a fight with Todd inside the house before the altercation began.

This is the portion where you can clearly hear a child crying. And I am about 99% sure that is Tripp.

Track clearly comes off as an arrogant asshole. And Todd's attempts to control what he says is fails miserably.  (I love the part where Track claims to know Jiu Jitsu. I call bullshit on that buddy.)

At the end you can hear Bristol claiming that she has "no clue" if she hit Korey or not. Clearly extremely drunk.

This last audio is where Klingenmeyer is highly agitated and wants the police to do something, and get the Palins off his property.

Here is how the Dispatch describes this one:

A highly agitated Korey Klingenmeyer approaches and asks police to take control of the scene. “These Palins running up here on my property acting like they own it is not gonna fly with me. … I don’t give a f*ck if their name’s Palin or f*cking Obama, cause they don’t mean sh*t to me,” he says.

It is pretty clear that Klingenmeyer really wanted to press charges against Bristol, but sadly he was apparently talked out of that. "I want to press charges against Bristol fucking Palin."

There is literally SO much on these audio tapes that there is simply no way to type it all out. So absolutely feel free to share in the comments section anything that the Dispatch and I missed.

Like I said I have listened to this quite a lot, and at this point if I do not have to hear Bristol crying, Willow yelling obscenities, to Track acting the bad ass it will be too soon.

Man they certainly do put the "fun" in dysfunctional.

(P.S. Please make sure to visit the Alaska Dispatch and give them some hits as we owe them for their hard work.)
