Tweeted by NDT yesterday morning. Update!

Well at least he was actually born on December 25th.

Personally I would love to see Christmas changed to celebrate the birth of Sir Isaac Newton rather then the mythological birth of the Christ child.

Update: Apparently Professor Tyson's tweets did not go over well with everybody.

Of course that just makes me like them all the more.

President Obama wears crown. Republican heads heads to explode in 3..2..oh let's face it they're still all 'sploded from the last thing he did.

Courtesy of Politico:

Sporting a tiara in a photo posted Wednesday, President Barack Obama seems to have broken his own rule of “you don’t put stuff on your head if you’re president.”

But that’s the power of the Girl Scouts.

White House photographer Pete Souza shared a photo on Instagram on Wednesday of the president donning a tiara with a group of Girl Scouts from the White House Science Fair earlier this year in May. In the caption, Souza wrote the girls from Tulsa “convinced” Obama to join in on the fun.

Yeah let me tell you as the father of a daughter of my own, little girls can talk dads into doing ANYTHING.

I myself have attended more than one tea party where the only other attendees were my daughter and her stuffed animal collection. (Sat in chairs so tiny that my knees were up my nose the entire time.)

Personally I like Michael Cohen's take on this:

And let's hope he spends the rest of his presidency not giving a f**k. (You know about conservative opinions, not the American people.)

P.S. Don't bother pointing out the difference between tiaras and crowns, like I said I have a daughter.

I just thought the word "crown" made a better headline.

So this just happened.

It's perfectly fine of course, as well as a good way to track what I write since I usually tweet all of my posts.

However I certainly hope that Ms. French has all of her anti-anxiety medications filled.

Because she's definitely going to need them.

Jeb Bush officially throws his hat into the presidential ring for 2016.

Not that this is a surprise, but now there is not longer any remaining doubt.

I actually think that this will do for the Republican field, essentially what having Hillary contemplating a run has done to the Democratic field.

I'm not saying that Scott Walker, Rick Perry, Rand Paul, and Chris Christie will not necessarily run, I am just saying that they will have little chance of beating Jeb. And he will for all intents and purposes draw the majority of media attention.

And let me just add at this point that the Democrats have no choice but to rally behind Hillary at this point. Because like it or not she has the very best chance of beating Bush in the general.

The real cancer in this country is fairly easy to detect.

The idea that seemingly rational people can say, or accept, this kind of thing absolutely boggles my freaking mind.

Well it's official, Sarah Palin is finally back to work standing in front of a green screen and pretending to know about hunting and the outdoors.

Apparently Charissa Thompson, a reporter from EXTRA, is tweeting about going "hunting" with Sarah Palin as a promotion for the second season of Amazing America.
Welcome for what exactly?
Gee riding a horse just like her idol Ronald Reagan. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Ten bucks says there will be no footage of her horse running or galloping, and that in every scene it will only be walking slowly along with a pack of handlers nearby in case it gets spooked.

Personally I am dying to see how they film her fake hunting scenes.

Hmm, I wonder if they will use CGI this season?

Gunman opens fire at Florida State University, shooting three before he is killed by police. Update!

Courtesy of NBC:

A gunman was fatally shot after opening fire in a library on Florida State University's campus early Thursday, sending hundreds of students who'd been studying for final exams running for their lives and cowering behind bookshelves. Three students were found suffering gunshot wounds at the scene.

Police received a call about an "armed subject" at the Strozier Library on the school's main campus in Tallahassee at 12.30 a.m. ET. Officers confronted the gunman and ordered him to drop his weapon, according to Tallahassee Police spokesman Dave Northway. "The suspect did not comply with the commands and shot at the officers," he added. "They returned fire and the suspect was killed.”

During a press conference at 6 a.m. ET, Police Chief Michael DeLeo described the shooting as an “isolated incident with one person acting alone.” It was unclear whether the gunman was a student.

One of the shooting victims was listed in critical condition early Thursday, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare spokeswoman Stephanie Derzypolski said. Another was in stable condition. Police said a third victim had received a "grazing injury" and was treated at the scene.

Several tweets were sent out during both the shooting and the police response.

This is one of them.
Here is video of the students in the library receiving instruction about the shooting courtesy of Gawker.

I can only imagine how frightened these students and their parents must have been  as this tragedy unfolded.

Currently there is no known motive, nor is it clear that the gunman was a student.

Update: Now we know that the gunman WAS a former student, and lawyer, named Myron May.

Sarah Palin thanks Louisiana for not laughing at her outfit, and gives a shout out to a few of the losers she endorsed this campaign season.

"Hi Mr. Cameraman, do you see me? Am I in focus? Of course I am, I'm a star."
Courtesy of Peggy Bundy's Facebook page:

North Louisiana, it was so great to be back in Monroe! With your warm southern hospitality you sure made us feel right at home amidst the duck weather (Duck weather?) that arrived ahead of season! It's an exciting time here. America's eyes are wide open after this month's election, and those eyes are now focused on Louisiana. This sportsman's paradise is poised to send the final message to Barack Obama in the runoff election on December 6th. (And that lesson is that this new Senate will do absolutely nothing until they get replaced by Democrats.) Congressman Bill Cassidy is ready to serve in the U.S. Senate as a fighter for Louisiana, as opposed to Senator Mary Landrieu who has been a voice for Barack Obama (voting with him 97% of the time) and has virtually ignored good Louisianans’ concerns for so many years. The status quo has got to go; Louisiana deserves the best, and Dr. Bill Cassidy is the best candidate for this great state! (Which is certainly not what she was saying just a month ago: "Check out Congressman Cassidy's long liberal record".) It's so encouraging to see concerned Americans all across the country rally for the good doctor – including Louisiana's own Duck Commander, Phil Robertson!

Never been prouder of Col. Rob Maness, a man of great character and commitment to serving our country. His efforts to unify the party behind Dr. Cassidy are truly admirable. (With the Colonel's bright future in public service, one can envision a future Cassidy/Maness team fighting for conservative principles in Washington.)

Well sure if he kisses Cassidy's ass now then the Republicans might throw him a bone later. That is Politics 101. Remember the first thing you have to give up is any of that integrity crap.

And Zach Dasher  (Who? Oh yeah the Duck Dynasty Dipshit's cousin who recently lost his race. )is a bold, sharp leader with a beautiful family and shining future who has unified behind his former opponent, Dr. Ralph Abraham, for U.S. Congress. (And along with Rob Maness that makes two, count'em two, endorsees from one state that came up the loser in this election cycle. Gee, no wonder she's proud of Louisiana.) Dr. Abraham, another veteran, has a servant's heart with his "Pilots for Patients" service that provides free flights for patients far from medical care. Thank you to Dr. Abraham's great charity for letting us use their hangar for the Unity Rally yesterday. Todd felt right at home surrounded by all the aircraft and gear!

Well more at home then he feels at home where he has to sleep on the couch and is not allowed to make eye contact.

Louisiana, your spirit inspires the rest of America; your great candidates bode so well for you on December 6th. (Oh gag me!) We'll cheer you on as you exercise your right to vote for these good guys. The USA needs them fighting for us all!

 - Sarah Palin

By the way apparently Palin suffered some kind of  "travel emergency" yesterday which these young ladies helped her resolve.

The only thing I can imagine is that her road kill wig must have awakened from its coma and jumped off her head, and these ladies surrounded it and wrestled it back onto Palin's dome before it could make good on its escape.

Just where is that hair school graduate when you need her?

Well whatever it was you know it must have been serious because Palin is standing with three African Americans and you know that must have made her break out in hives.

So THIS is how former reality stars/half term governors are dressing for political rallies this year. Update!

So this is how Palin dressed for Unity Rally part deux held in a luxury airplane hangar in Louisiana.

As you can see the candidate Bill Cassidy and Rob Maness decided to go with the non-street walker style of ensemble for the event.

You have to hand it to Palin, some people might be worried about what some people might think of them. But oh no, not her.

More photos here, and here.

Palin also posted this today.

Just to rub my nose in it probably.

Update:

WTH?

Don't you hate it when Grandma breaks into the liquor cabinet?

Twitter, The Powerful Tool Stock Market Prediction

The Powerful Tool
For most people, chirp on Twitter might just be a tool to express opinions and express themselves. However, the scientists successfully take advantage of Twitter could become a powerful tool to predict the stock market conditions.

Recently, researchers in the field of social computing from Indiana University-Bloomington, Johan Bollen assisted student named Huina Mao managed to find a correlation atmosphere people on Twitter with the movement of stocks on Wall Street. As a result, they could predict the Dow to a level approaching 90 percent accuracy".

We can achieve 87.6 percent accuracy rate in predicting the increase and decrease the daily closing Dow Jones Industrial Average," said Johan Bollen Physorg.com quoted by the website.

Bollen and his team took samples from 9.7 million tweet posted by 2.7 million Twitter users between March and December 2008. Seeing the mood of a tracking device based on open source named OpenFinder, Bollen sorting through tweets into positive and negative based on words contained in a tweet.
