Sarah Palin's interview on EXTRA pimping the return of Amazing America is just as ridiculous as you might imagine.
Palin explained, "2016 is a long time away… that's a big darn deal when it comes to family."
This was in response to the invariable question about whether Palin is running in 2016 or not. (Spoiler alert: She's not!)
Thompson asked, "Hillary Clinton's name has been floating out there for a long time as the Democratic nominee. Are we ready for that?" Sarah responded, "I would love to see a woman on both sides of the aisle shooting for that top spot."
"Shooting for that top spot?" Oh look more gun metaphors.
As for the second season of "Amazing America with Sarah Palin," Palin said, "There's so much to show… we're going to focus a lot on those who are reaching out and helping others. We're going to showcase a lot of these people who can inspire others to get out there and live vibrantly. It's about work ethic, but still keeping that connection between faith, family, and love of freedom. That's America!"
Some day, some reporter is going to have the balls to ask Palin just what in the hell she means by "living vibrantly." Because unless it means "living drunkenly" I don't think it relates to her family's way of life.
Palin also shared that her family is doing well. "My family is awesome. Perhaps they have some kind of target on their back because the liberal media types, they do not like constitutional conservatives who are going to call it like they see it and speak truth. So they'll do whatever they can to get you to sit down and shut up, but I'm not wired to sit down and shut up."
That may be but according to those police audio tapes from the brawl the family is programmed to fall down and drink up.
And just to be clear the family does not "have a target on their backs" because they are "constitutional conservatives," which by the way I don't think any of them really are.
They attract attention for doing crazy disruptive things, or because Palin herself draws attention to them in order to hide behind, make them promote one of her pet issues, or, in Bristol's case, use their blog to attack the President.
Essentially this interview was just the same old crap as usual.
I did however notice that the wind was making Palin's wig super obvious. At one point she reaches up to fix her hair, and then stops right above the bangs so as not to knock the wig loose.
If it had taken flight this might have been the most entertaining Palin video yet. Perhaps even better than the Thanksgiving turkey slaughter video.

“What I heard the comparison of the United States of America — the greatest country in the world, the greatest country ever — to Nazi Germany, I said, what is he talking about?” Blitzer told Carson on Wednesday.
“See, what you were doing is allowing words to affect you more than listening to what was actually being said,” Carson insisted. “Nazi Germany experienced something horrible. The people in Nazi Germany largely did not believe in what Hitler was doing, but did they say anything? Of course not. They kept their mouths shut.”
“The fact that our government is using instruments of government like the IRS to punish its opponents, this is not the kind of thing, as far as I’m concerned, that is a Democrat or Republican issue. This is an American issue. This is an issue that threatens all of our liberty, all or our freedom.”
Blitzer, however, wasn’t satisfied: “But to make the comparison, Dr. Carson, to Nazi Germany, the slaughter of six million Jews by the Nazis, the devastation that erupted in Europe and around the world to the United States of America, I want you to reflect on what that means.”
“Well, again, you are just focusing on the words Nazi Germany and completely missing the point,” Carson replied. “And that’s the problem right now, that’s what PC-ism is all about: You may not say this word regardless of what your point is because if you say that word, you know, I go into a tizzy. We can do better than that.”
“We need to get to the point where we can look beyond the word, and look for the meaning,” he said, adding that he had no intention of revising his remarks.
Yes dammit, stop focusing on the actual words that Ben Carson is saying and try to instead derive the meaning of what he would have said if he had used entirely different words.

By the way this is the guy that is currently leading the polls as a potential Republican presidential candidate if Mitt Romney's wife refuses to let him run again.

George Stephanopoulos gets first interview with Darren Wilson after Grand Jury decision.

ABC News broke into scheduled programming Tuesday afternoon to give a brief preview of the interview. Stephanopoulos told viewers that he spent more than an hour with Wilson in a "secret location." He said Wilson told him that he is "sorry" for the death of Brown, but that he would not do "anything different" if he were to relive that day. "He does not think he could have done anything differently," Stephanopoulos said.
"He says he did what he was trained to do. He has a clean conscience over his actions that day."
"He has a clean conscience over this actions that day." You know having a clean conscience after ending the life of another human being indicates a psychopath.
Even soldiers fighting in wars against individuals that are trying to kill them, do not usually say they have a clean conscience over the soldiers they have killed.
Even if you really feel you are justified that is a troubling way to put things.
And saying that he would not have done anything differently....well I don't even know what to do with that statement.

Senator Lindsey Graham responds to report by the Republican led House Intelligence Committee exonerating the White House over Benghazi as you might expect: "I think the report is full of crap."

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday blasted a House GOP-led investigation that recently debunked myths about the 2012 Benghazi attack.
“I think the report is full of crap,” Graham said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
After Graham was asked whether the report exonerates the administration, he initially ignored the question, and then eventually said “no.”
The House Intelligence panel, Graham said, is “doing a lousy job policing their own.” Graham didn’t clearly pinpoint why he dismissed the report’s findings, but suggested its information was provided by people in the intelligence community who had previously lied to Congress about the attack.
“I don’t believe the report is accurate given the role [former CIA deputy director] Mike Morell played in misleading the Congress on two occasions,” Graham said.
Host Gloria Borger said the report found no one lied.
“That’s a bunch of garbage,” Graham replied.
I swear if this keeps up Graham might have to go lie down on his fainting couch with a chilled mint julip.

Where Senator Al Franken tries to explain to Ted Cruz what Net Neutrality means.

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) struggled on Sunday to explain to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) why he had been wrong to assert that net neutrality was “Obamacare for the Internet,” and that it would stifle innovation.
But Franken told CNN’s Candy Crowley that Cruz had the concept of net neutrality “completely wrong.”
“CNN’s website, [and] a blogger in Duluth, Minnesota travels at the same speed… The New York Times, their website travels the same speed,” Franken pointed out. “That’s the way that it’s been from the beginning. And we want to keep it that way.”
“He has it completely wrong, he just doesn’t understand what this issue is,” the Minnesota Democrat said of Cruz. “We’ve had net neutrality the entire history of the Internet.”
Franken observed that “Obamacare was government program that fixed something, that changed things. This is about reclassifying something so it stays the same. This would keep things exactly the same as they’ve been.”
Now I think of Al Franken as a national treasure. He is one of the smartest guys in politics right now, though to be honest that is kind of a low bar.
And when it comes to explaining things he is perhaps one of the very best. Perhaps even better than the "Explainer in Chief" himself, Bill Clinton.
But I can guarantee you that this is not going to change the mind of Ted Cruz one little bit.
And I will even give Cruz credit by saying that he actually DOES understand that what he said is ignorant and wrong.
However he also realizes that his target audience are a bunch of simple minded nose picking morons, who believe that the only thing the internet is good for is finding naked pictures of girls that remind them of their first cousins so that they can touch themselves.
So they will believe without question whatever ridiculous lie that Ted Cruz tells them.

John Fogerty has some opinions on the Republicans claiming that his song "Fortunate Son" was inappropriate for a Veteran's Day concert.
So in a recent Rolling Stone interview John Fogerty, who wrote the song, was asked about that response:
"'Fortunate Son' is a song I wrote during the Vietnam War over 45 years ago," Fogerty said in a statement. "As an American and a songwriter, I am proud that the song still has resonance. I do believe that its meaning gets misinterpreted and even usurped by various factions wishing to make their own case. What a great country we have that a song like this can be performed in a setting like Concert for Valor.
"Years ago, an ultraconservative administration tried to paint anyone who questioned its policies as 'un-American,'" he continues. "That same administration shamefully ignored and mistreated the soldiers returning from Vietnam. As a man who was drafted and served his country during those times, I have ultimate respect for the men and women who protect us today and demand that they receive the respect that they deserve."
What the conservative mouthpieces either failed, or refused to understand, is that the song is VERY supportive of the soldiers themselves. Who the song was criticizing were the politicians who start these wars and then send American sons (And now daughters) to die in countries that THEIR children will only ever visit in times of peace.
Both John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen are American institutions, and I would put their patriotism up against anyone. Especially some conservative jackass sitting on his fat ass, sipping Fox newsroom coffee, and faking outrage in order to rile up the paint chip eaters.
Fogerty goes on to point out that he recently performed "Fortunate One" at "A Salute to the Troops: In Performance at the White House" just last week. A performance by the way that was broadcast on PBS.
And guess which song he played? That's right.

Sean Hannity invites Sarah Palin on to do her victory dance and then shuts her down by asking if she wants a job in politics.
I have to admit that I did not even know that Palin was on Fox last night, I was too busy ignoring my TV and enjoying life.

Hannity leads off by framing the midterm defeat of Democrats as a harbinger of troubles to come for a Hillary Clinton presidential bid in 2016. (Nice try no-neck.)
After teeing it up, Hannity then asks Palin if Hillary is "as big a loser as the President."
"Oh it was the whole ball of wax wasn't it the other night? All the Democrats felled policies, and felled candidates, and felled surrogates. Well that was just..uh..made manifest by the American people when we all said no to that, and to stop that, and Hillary of course was a part of that. Of course though the Left, Sean will..um..buck up and they will do all that they can to protect Hillary and try to change the narrative, as you already heard I'm sure. Try to make it sound like, well she was the winner in all of this. That she had chosen the right ones, and the right policies to support. Obviously the facts don't support that...but they will...they will support her anyway and prop her up because they participate in this phony and felled war on women, so to compensate for what it is that they accuse the Republicans of engaging in, they make an extra effort to coddle women and to make them fill that they can't independently, and with their own capabilities, rise to the top. That government and politicians have to do things for them. They will do for Hillary to continue to prop her up."
Wait, Hillary Clinton needs to be propped up by the Democrats? Boy does Palin not know Hillary Clinton!
That is one of the worst cases of projection that I have ever seen.
Hannity then makes the case that in order to run successfully in 2016 that Hillary will have to distance herself from the policies of President Obama, and asks Palin if she can do that.
"No, Barack Obama of course has had his boot on the neck of the American economy, and anyone who has participated in shining that boot, that being the people who he surrounds himself with, and helped call the shots for the nation over these past six years of a lot of failures, anybody who shined those boots? No the American public, you can't underestimate the wisdom of, and will be saying no to anyone who participated. Good point too about Mark Begich, Mary Landrieu, all these folks who they supported Barack Obama, and would continue to, of course, when they got back in there 97, 98, 99% of the time. How stupid did they think American voters were?"
Well smart enough to have rejected you and Grandpa Grumpy-Pants back in 2008.
Hannity then asks if Palin has any advice for the newly elected, or newly reelected Republicans going to Washington, and she rattles off a bunch of her usual talking points about stopping Obama, giving us our freedom, and playing hardball.
Hannity then asks if there isn't an "unspoken expectation" that the Republicans will actually work to solve some of the problems facing the country and not just focus on defeating Obama? Which is actually a surprisingly reasonable question coming from Hannity.
Let's see how Palin handles a real question.
"Right, first and foremost is stop Obama and his felled policies, his lawlessness, but also yes that inspiration that we can gain from the GOP, and what it is that we sent them to do there in Washington is to fulfill their campaign promises and stand strong on the planks of the Republican platform. And they can get specific from there. Lower the corporate tax rate, and quit shoving jobs overseas..um..allow competition in the health care system once you repill Obamacare, as you promised to do GOP. And...uh...allow employers to hire more people. Full time jobs, not part time jobs. What's going on right now Sean is the decimation of the middle class because of these high costs of health care, because of these prohibitions just placed upon employers where they're not able to hire people. Open borders of course is another step toward decimation of the middle class because we'll have a flood of illegal immigrants coming in to compete with American jobs. All of that leads to just this atrophying of a foundation of our country which is the middle class, and that is on the Democrat's shoulder."

Then Hannity follows up, by asking her "what job?"
She looks completely lost, before shaking her head and saying, "I don't know which job, but of course, and in the meantime, I'm out and about doing what I can to support good candidates."
Palin then breathlessly tattles off a bunch of upcoming appearances. Ultimately making it clear that she does NOT really want a job where she cannot do what she wants, when she wants.
Most of this interview was the same old word salad, peppered with Palin brand moosenuggets. But that last question, that one actually seemed to have drawn blood.

NO!): "Ah it was such a great night last night, and it's going to be a great two years if the GOP does what it's supposed to do. It encourages me in the sense that the wisdom of the people was made manifest in the vote so that tells you that we will have a very wise electorate in 2016 also. It's not about me though!"

John McCain finally weighs in on the Palin drunken brawl.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) came to the defense of his former running mate, Sarah Palin, on Friday, more than a month after she and her family were involved in a drunken, bloody altercation at a house party in Alaska.
During an interview with Phoenix television station KTVK, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee said he wasn't excusing the brawl but went on to blast the media's coverage of it.
"I think these family affairs are -- I don't know much of the details about it," McCain told the TV station. "Things happen in people's families and I'm not excusing it, I'm not condemning it."
"I just know that the kind of coverage that this got, in my view, is in keeping with the kind of coverage the liberals have accorded to Sarah Palin for a number of years, which in my view, is biased and unfair and sometimes unacceptable," McCain told KTVK.
Actually I agree with McCain that this coverage is in keeping with how the media has covered up for this lying grifter and her family. If they had ever done their jobs properly she would have disappeared from the public eye years ago.
And speaking of doing their jobs properly I think that every time John McCain is questioned by reporters, the very first question that he should be asked is why he hates America so much that he cursed it with this vile woman and her clan of hillbilly misfits. Followed up with the question of how he can look himself in the mirror to shave without cutting his own throat.

“The hatred level directed against you is extraordinary and a disgrace,” Varney said at the top of his interview with Palin. “Has it driven you out of politics, driven you away from public office for good?”
“No, bless their hearts, those haters out there,” Palin replied, saying the comments only “invigorate” her to keep doing whatever it is she does. "
“It invigorates me it wants me to get out there and defend the innocent," she said. "It makes me want to work so hard for justice in this country. So, hey, the more they are pouring on, the more I’m going to bug the crap out of them by being out there with the voice, with the message, hopefully running for office in the future too.”
“What’s it like dealing with that kind of mockery — and that’s what it is, mockery — for more than six years?” Varney asked Palin, turning specifically to Costello’s commentary. “And this is a personal question, what does it feel like?”
Rather than take the opportunity to attack Costello directly, Palin demurred, saying she knows “a lot of people have it a heck of a lot harder than the Palins do.” But, she added, liberals love to play “the politics and personal destruction.”
“They do want to destroy personally those they disagree with,” she continued. “They are very, very intolerant of those who maybe hold opposing views to their liberal, failed agenda views. So they want to crush us.”
When Varney posited to Palin that the “war on women” is really more of a “war on you,” the former governor agreed wholeheartedly, saying, “Absolutely.”
You will notice that Varney did not once ask Palin any questions about the brawl, or why her entire family were so publicly inebriated.
And comparing the challenges that her family faces in keeping the truth hidden from public scrutiny to the challenges of a family with a military member fighting overseas, is one of the lowest things she has ever done.
As for all of that talk about wanting to "defend the innocent" and "fight for justice," who does she think she is kidding? I know a certain innocent Anchorage homeowner who could use a little justice right about now.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin agreed Monday that there should be a quarantine for medical workers coming from West Africa as she took President Barack Obama and his administration to task over its “incompetency” in handling the Ebola crisis.
“I do think that there needs to be that quarantine but, see, this is par for the course that Obama’s incompetency, his administration’s incompetency, is really shining bright in this one,” the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”
Palin added that Washington is “trying to call the shots for these governors. There is a void of leadership here and the governors need to step up and step in.”
“We’re going to demand of our leadership in Washington and on the state level to get politics out of this and allow the medical community to tell us factually, what needs to be done,” Palin said.
Palin said she would talk to other governors about enacting a quarantine, if she were still serving in that role in Alaska.
“And I betcha we would come to the conclusion that you can’t trust the Obama administration,” she said, adding that liberals are using “Saul Alinsky tactics” to capitalize on crisis.
Who in the HELL would ever ask this woman about contagious diseases or how the government should respond to an outbreak in this country?
She is not only completely fact free in this completely unnecessary interview, she is also histrionic and attempts to drum up panic from Fox viewers in order to undermine the President.

Look I live in a state where Sarah Palin had to deal with crisis. Her never wavering approach was to first pretend that there was no problem, slowly respond after being pressured by constituents and the media, and finally have Franklin Graham fly up here and go with her to deliver cookies.
If we had an Ebola outbreak in Alaska while Palin was in charge, we would all be dead right now.

As the number of ebola cases in the U.S. dwindled to one Tuesday, a new CNN/ORC poll found the American public surprisingly confident in the federal government’s response to the virus in the U.S.
54% of those surveyed said the government had done a good job in handling the virus, while 71% were confident the government could prevent a widespread outbreak — somewhat contradicting the punditry that decried the public’s despair in the face of institutional failures.
Yeah, the American people know that the President has got this.
But hey, nice try Fox news.

I actually almost did not cover this as I think it the far less important or interesting story about Sarah Palin today. (For that just go down a few posts.)
However it is kind of my thing to talk about her Fox appearances so here goes.
First off she is once again dressed in that hideous yellow pleather jacket, which looks like part of an ensemble from the "Streetwalker Barbie" collection.
Then she starts off with this dismissive tone as she addresses a quote about President Obama by Tina Brown:
"How ironic, Because that little lady, Tina Brown, she is such a big part of the problem. She with her, and her ilk, so uber-uppity, so cocksure of their untouchable elitism."
Say what?
Damn somebody is particularly venomous today.
Palin then goes on to blame liberals for keeping women down by making them dependent on social programs.
About Tina Brown she says, "Chick you're a day late and a dollar short."
Yes because REAL pro-women women usually refer to other women as "chicks."
For somebody whose entire family was just outed as a bunch of drunken trouble makers, Palin is oddly arrogant and seemingly pleased with herself as she makes statements like this:
"Because these maladroit fake feminist women, They have such a double standard, so hypocritical as they would support anyone who would have sympathy for Muslims who do treat women so poorly. So inhumanely and not do all they can to stop the rise of radical Islam that would adversely affect America's interests.
(I bet you did not know that not stopping the spread of radical Islam was a failing by feminists now did you?)
Hannity then gets sneaky and tricks Palin, who as we know is always throwing her support behind these far right challengers to Republican incumbents, into admitting that voting for the Republican candidate, even if he is not as ideological pure as she might like, would be better than allowing the Democrats to take that seat.
At the end Palin manages to again make her pitch that Obama's recent remarks that many Democrats currently in tight races voted with him, essentially dooms Mark Begich. (Who she disrespectfully refers to as "Marky-Mark.)
"GOP establishment you better not blow it. You better take this gift as gold and capitalize on it."
You know that's actually good advice.
