Jon Stewart mocks Dick Cheney for using 9-11 as his definition of torture.

"Dick Cheney, setting this nation's moral bar at anything incrementally better than the most despicable thing that has ever been done to us."

The fact that Cheney uses 9-11 as his definition of torture is at once incredibly disingenuous but also totally ridiculous.

The people who died on 9-11 were not tortured, they were massacred.

Torture is something inflicted upon you by somebody who expects you to survive long enough to either tell them what they want to know, or to suffer in order to satisfy their sadomasochistic fantasies.

Dying is not part of the torture. Dying is the end to the pain.

What we did was to rectally feed these detainees so that we could continue to enjoy watching them suffer long after we realized that they had no information of any value to surrender to their captors.

THAT is torture in its truest form.

Jon Stewart on Rand Paul's contention that the death of Eric Garner was partly due to taxes, "What the fuck are you talking about?"

Speaking of Comedy Central pundits, this month is the Colbert Report's last month on the air.

It's finally episode will air on December 18th.

So Colbert is really pulling out all of the stops and will broadcast from Washington D.C. on Monday. His guest will be a certain President of the United States, which I think indicates the kinds of people who are fans of the show.

These two shows have often served as an oasis of sanity during incredibly divisive times, and I for one will be incredibly sad to see one of them coming to an end.

The Grand Jury's decision in the Eric Garner case was so terrible that it drained the funny right out of Jon Stewart.

You know we rely on Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert, to find the humor in situations that seem to defy laughter.

However during last night's show Stewart's reaction was really the ONLY reaction that we could have expected him, or anybody, to have in response to this incomprehensible news.

Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Victor White III, Eric Garner,  after awhile it is simply too much to take anymore.

Finally white America has discovered something about itself that minorities have known all along. And they don't like it.

With the media heat officially turned to "Who gives a shit?" Sarah Palin is now back to pimping Teabagger candidates full time.

From the Urban Cowpie's Facebook page:

I love to tease our Texan relatives and friends that they're living down in our "Little Sister State of Texas!" I do love your state, and you are blessed to have Greg Abbott there as such a strong leader. He's fighting to defend freedom! Like Alaska, Texas is all about personal and economic liberty. But did you know President Obama is determined to undermine that with a “blue takeover” he envisions? Well, thankfully Greg Abbott will assure that won’t happen. Support a true patriot and proven leader as your next governor, and send a message to Team Obama at the same time: Texas—and the nation—will NOT go the way of any liberal state! Please find a polling location in your county before early voting ends tomorrow.

And, by the way, this Greg Abbot campaign sign is the best I've seen yet!

 Oh yeah, that's just adorable.

Well unlike Rob Maness at least Abbott has a better than even chance of winning his race. In fact right now he is leading Wendy Davis by over 15 points.

You're just breaking my heart Texas, you really are.

You know you can tell a lot about a candidate by the friends he keeps. Besides Palin Abbott has been cozying up to a certain poopy pants pedophile (Warning link takes you to WND):

I already got my invitation to Greg Abbott’s victory party for the evening of Nov. 4 as we celebrate his landslide victory over Wendy Davis as the new and well-deserved governor of the Great Republic of Texas.

This Texas race is a microcosm of elections across the country. Thank God there are still way more Texans that stand in defiance of the lying, scamming, America-hating, Texas-hating scammers and scoundrels that infest and steer the Wendy Davis campaign of deception.

Oh yeah, he's a gem.

But come on, if an endorsement from Sarah Palin AND Ted Nugent is not enough to sink your campaign, what does that say about your state?

I am beginning to wonder if Texas is a lost cause for liberals, despite the demographic shifts.

And Jon Stewart of the Daily Show shares my concerns.
